Copenhagen Raises $250,000 In 3 Years to Support Hunger Relief

We are excited to announce that the conclusion of Copenhagen’s 2024 third-annual Spring Charity Food Drive saw us meet our fundraising goal of $60,000, equating to over 300,000 meals provided to our hungry neighbors across Arizona and Texas! This brings our 3-year fundraising total to $250,000 in support of local food banks in their fight against hunger.

From March 20 through April 14, 2024, Copenhagen donated 5% of gross sales to five food banks: St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona in Tucson, the Central Texas Food Bank in Austin, the San Antonio Food Bank, and the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank.

To encourage participation, Copenhagen offered a 5% discount on purchases when customers donated at least 5 nonperishable food items or $25. In addition, Copenhagen employees at each of our locations showed their support for the cause by volunteering at food bank warehouses and gardens.

Here’s a breakdown of the impact made for each of our participating food banks:

St Mary’s Food Bank

  • Copenhagen donation: $20,000, equating to 100,000 meals
  • Customer donations: $2,040 and 1,126 lbs of food, equating to 11,138 meals

Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona

  • Copenhagen donation: $10,000, equating to 40,000 meals
  • Customer donations: $771 and 448 lbs of food, equating to over 6,000 meals

  • Copenhagen donation: $10,000, providing 1,000 people with groceries
  • Customer donations: $880, providing 88 people with groceries, and 95 lbs of food, equating to 80 meals

San Antonio Food Bank

  • Copenhagen donation: $10,000, equating to 70,000 meals
  • Customer donations: $540 and 252 lbs of food, equating to over 3,780 meals
